W. P. Carey School of Business
Kay A. Faris Emergency Fund

The W. P. Carey School of Business Financial Assistance Program is a demonstration of the school’s commitment to student success. The Financial Aid Assistance Program was established to provide W. P. Carey students financial assistance towards education expenses. Assistance is awarded to business students who demonstrate academic ability and progress but have incurred recent (last 60 days) unforeseen financial circumstances which make it difficult to pay their cost of attendance.

Award

The funds assist students in meeting the costs of tuition/fees, books and living expenses. Award amounts may vary on availability of funds as well as individual need. The awards are expected to be one-time awards; however, students may reapply. Applications will be accepted until all annual funding is awarded.

Criteria

  • Regular admission to the W. P. Carey School of Business
  • Enrollment in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester with demonstrated progress towards a four-year undergraduate degree
  • Demonstrated financial need.
  • Cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Process

Students may be subject to further justification to support their application. Include any documentation to substantiate your circumstances such as employment dismissal notice, eviction notice, bankruptcy records, death certificate, financial documents, etc.

It is expected that students are in the process of finding solutions for the current situation, to include the ASU Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships or other resources at ASU to assist their current financial situation. Students should be prepared to outline steps taken with ASU resources. Provide specific updates on your financial status in the second essay as the committee may not be able to complete their decision if not included.

Once the application is submitted a committee will make a final decision. The process may take up to two weeks and students will be notified by email.
