The W. P. Carey business degree in tourism delivers the skills, knowledge, and experience you need to thrive in the tourism industry and affiliated professions. You’ll gain an understanding of industry-specific marketing techniques, learn to effectively interact with many different types of businesses, and graduate with the qualifications for a variety of leadership and management roles in the recreation and tourism industries.

Major Requirements

The business degree in tourism requires 18 credit hours of coursework (at least 12 hours must be ASU credit):

  • TDM 205: Introduction to Travel and Tourism
  • 15 credit hours of tourism concentration electives (at least 12 credits must be upper division)
  • 2014-15 catalog and earlier: TDM 205 must be completed by the end of term three
  • 2015-16 catalog and forward: TDM 205 must be completed by the end of term four

Tourism advising is available on the Tempe campus. If you would like to schedule an advising appointment but are located on a different campus, you are welcome to schedule a phone advising appointment, meet with the concentration advisor at the Tempe campus, or meet with a W. P. Carey advisor located on your home campus. Appointments may be scheduled online using Advising SOS.
