BA to BS

W. P. Carey students will have a W. P. Carey Academic Advisor who will help through the process of changing your major and make sure they take the right classes towards their desired major.

There are four different options to change from Bachelor of Arts in Business (BA) degree to Bachelor of Science (BS) degree:

1. Meet Direct Admission Requirements*
   Students that meet direct admission requirements should submit a "Change Major" request through Advising SOS.



Or



2. Retaking ACT On-Campus at ASU testing center (Quickest option)
   All ASU students have access to take ACT On-Campus at ASU's testing center. Once you have received a composite score of a 25 or higher on the ACT and a 3.0 cumulative transfer GPA (if applicable) you would be eligible to change your major into any of our BS degree programs. Please consider this option as everything learned in high school will still be "fresh" and this will be the quickest option for changing a major.

3. 3.4 Cumulative ASU GPA and 3.4 business skills GPA (after completion of all 8 business skill classes)
   Students who have previously attended or are currently attending ASU may be directly admitted to Bachelor of Science degree majors if they meet the following requirements. Consult with your academic advisor to confirm your qualifications:
   • Minimum 30 hours completed at ASU and
   • Minimum 3.4 cumulative ASU GPA and
   • 3.0 cumulative transfer GPA (if you have attended another institution) and
   • Completion of all Business skill courses
   • Students must have earned grades of “C” or better in any attempted business skills courses
   • Minimum 3.4 cumulative GPA in all Business skill courses with a C grade or higher and
   • No academic integrity violations on file

4. Admissions Portfolio (After completion of 6 out of 8 business skill classes)
   This is a competitive admissions process into a W. P. Carey program for any student who does not meet the direct admission requirements. Please note, this option does not guarantee admission. We recommend this option if you have done well in the majority of your business skill classes (must have completed at least 6 out of 8) and would like to change your major before completing all 8 classes.
