Destinations and Programs
Begin planning your study abroad experience early in order to find program options that will offer credits to fulfill business requirements at ASU. W. P. Carey assigns credit equivalencies for business coursework taken abroad on partnership and exchange programs — this is ASU resident credit and not transfer credit. It is added to your academic record after returning from abroad and counts in your ASU GPA.
For Faculty Directed (FD) and Global Intensive Experience (GIE) programs students will enroll in ASU courses through the normal registration process. Students must meet the pre-requisites for the course(s) in order to participate in the programs.
In most cases, completing W. P. Carey’s lower division skills courses prior to departure in semester and year-long programs is highly advisable, though in some cases it may be possible to find coursework abroad that is equivalent to these skills courses. Classes at foreign partner institutions will have enforced pre-requisites. If you have not completed a portion of these basic skills courses prior to your trip abroad, you may be disadvantaged when registering for foreign courses. Except where otherwise noted, study abroad programs are available in the summer, for an entire semester, or as a year-long program.

ASU Partnership Programs and non-WPC Exchange and Faculty Directed Programs
W. P. Carey does not manage partnership, non-WPC exchange and faculty directed program options. However, many of these programs offer coursework and credit equivalencies that work very well for business students. Moreover, W. P. Carey will assist any business student to evaluate foreign coursework.
