Peer Advisors
Peer advising is an excellent leadership and employment opportunity for current W. P. Carey students.
Peer advisors assist incoming first-year business students with their first semester requirements; help students choose appropriate classes; and work with professional staff, W. P. Carey deans, and other students. They are role models and student leaders. Peer advisors work with the W. P. Carey Student Engagement team and academic advisors during ASU New Student Orientation Experience.
Qualifications
- Current W. P. Carey School of Business student with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA
- Enroll in and attend the peer advisor training course (WPC 394), held most Fridays in the spring semester
- Work at least 3-5 consecutive hours during Orientation programs, which are held from mid-March through August
- Attention to detail and an ability to understand and execute the principles learned in the peer advisor training course
- Positively represent the W. P. Carey School of Business and serve as a role model for incoming students
- Maintain a positive and professional manner at all times when interacting with students, parents, faculty, administrators, staff, and students.
